Project Mission Statement
This dossier executes a line-by-line structural analysis of the Joseph Smith Translation (JST) against standard biblical manuscripts (represented here by the ESV). The objective is to identify theological "patches" or "expansions" introduced by Smith.
Methodology:
We isolate specific verses where the JST introduces significant deviations—often inserting Christology into the Old Testament or modifying the nature of God. These are not merely translation differences; they represent a theological "fork" in the codebase of scripture.
Key Indicators:
Look for the BLUE HIGHLIGHTS in the JST column. These represent text that has no basis in the Hebrew or Greek manuscripts but serves to retroactively insert LDS theology into the biblical timeline.
